11th Annual Gathering of Adirondack Winter Climbers!

March 2009

For the past ten years there has been a dinner gathering of Adirondack winter hikers, usually on the first Saturday after the end of the “official 46er winter climbing season” (12/21 to 3/21 inclusive).  Originally this was an informal gathering of winter climbers but due to its popularity and attendance the event has become a third “annual 46er sponsored event.”  It is an opportunity for newly finished winter climbers to be introduced, recognized, and given the chance to make some brief comments.

For everyone who attends it is an opportunity to spend several hours informally sharing stories of past winter climbs.  The buffet meal provided by the Crowne Plaza has surpassed our expectations and the smaller group size allows for interaction between all attendees.  You need not be a winter 46er to attend and all climbers and friends are encouraged to participate.

WE ARE PLANNING TO HOLD ANOTHER GATHERING THIS MARCH.  DETAILS WILL APPEAR ON THIS WEBSITE WHEN THE FINAL ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE.
